Sourdough Pizza & Italian Gelato

Learn the secrets of making Delicious Sourdough Organic Pizza & Italian Gelato.

You will learn how to prepare you own Wild yeast sourdough starter, how to maintain it, and how to use it when creating bread, pizza or any leavened dough. We will prepare the pizza dough & shape wonderful slowly leavened organic dough & get creative with both traditional and seasonal pizza toppings.

What you will Learn:

  • How to prepare& maintain a ‘Pasta Madre’/Wild yeast starter
  • What are Neapolitan DOP pizzas
  • How to prepare perfect Marinara & Margherita Pizzas
  • How to best cook Pizza in a domestic oven
  • Make Pizza sauce using the best Italian tomatoes, fresh Mozzarella and Basil.

During the second half of the cooking class we will have fun making Italian Gelato, such as Italian Strawberry & Sicilian Lemon. Sign up for the class and let us know what your favourite flavours are!

We will have fun preparing some beautiful Pizzas & Italian Gelato. Afterwards we will have a relaxed, sit down lunch with local wines and dessert, on the terrace, hopefully in the sunshine!

Classes include a full lunch with prosecco, regional wines, dessert and coffee.

9:15 Meet and Greet, Coffee time and chat about recipes we will use.

9:30 Aprons on time to cook!
– Show method to prepare pizza dough by hand, everyone will have a go
– Prepare Lemon Sorbetto together
– Prepare Seasonal Gelato for dessert together
– Discuss different types of pizza to make and how to select ingredients
– Show how to shape traditional Neapolitan pizza by hand and cook our first marinara pizza !
11:30 Shape and top pizzas (margherita , gorgonzola and pear, Valtellina cheese with zucchini and sage)
12:00 Tutti a tavola per Pranzo
13:15 Home time for Siesta
