Granita – a Sicilian delight

After a horrible week of rain, the sun has been out all day. It has been a busy evening so we had a quick pasta dinner, but my little girl was at the doctors today so the kids deserved a nice dessert for all the waiting around. We had some blackberries and strawberries in the fridge and ice cubes in the freezer… blitz it all together with some sugar to taste and hey presto Blackberry & Strawberry Granita!

All you need is a blender that can happily blend ice cubes.

Ingredients – serves 2

6 strawberries

10 large blackberries

12 ice cubes

1 tbl spoon brown sugar

Method

Blitz all ingredients together for a minute and serve in glasses topped with whipped cream if you like.
