Tuscan Bread & Cantuccini
July 11, 2017 @ 10:00 am€45
Learn the secrets of making two classics from Tuscany easily from home. We will have fun preparing these together, along with some classic tuscan accompaniments and afterwards have a relaxed, sit down, lunch with local wines and dessert, on the terrace, hopefully in the sunshine!
In this class we will learn about the different types of flours, nutrition, and how to choose appropriately for bread making.
We will prepare “Pane al Farro”, a healthy wholegrain rustic bread, rested for 12 hours to mature. It has a satisfying nutty taste and crunchy texture around the edges. It’s great served with cheese, hams, or salads.
Cantuccini are golden, hard cookies with a long shape and on the inside an explosion of peeled almonds, whole or in pieces. Their peculiarity comes from the fact that this cookies are actually “bis-cotti” (twice baked): first they go into the oven in the shape of soft almonds baguettes, then they are cut in pieces and put back in the oven until they develop their nice, golden colour and crunchiness!
